Joining Delta in late 2011, Omar has over fifteen years of experience in the construction and design industry. He has conducted business in the Middle East and Africa in such countries as Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia, Oman, Qatar and the U.A.E.
Omar's initial degree was in Building and Construction Engineering. For several years he was working for a private architectural consultancy firm in Baghdad. Prior to the last Gulf War, Omar moved back to the U.K. where he furthered his studies and gained a Post-Graduate Degree in Construction Project Management.
In 2006, Omar relocated to Dubai to join the renown Turner and Townsend construction management consultancy firm where he made full use of his extensive background. During his time there, he gained further exposure to the broader Middle East areas with privy to the premier projects and clients in the region.
Continuing his journey through the Middle East, he moved to Qatar in 2009 where he aided the establishment and development of business for Turner and Townsend’s office in Doha.
Drawing on Omar's diverse experience, he was asked to join Delta Lighting Solutions as Director of Business Development for the Qatar and Saudi markets with the wider Middle East and Africa in sight.
